the lessons really good. Especially the ones to help your sight reading if you are interested. It is quite expensive to buy from memory, so you might want to buy it second hand if you can get one in good nik. Danial Vardy

Here we go again. Buck, don’t bother listening to this freak, he doesn’t know the foggiest thing about playing the guitar. He’s got his Yahoo personal ad as his signature! What does that tell you? Anyway, there are some great methods out there for learning guitar. William Leavitt’s Modern Method For Guitar can include a CD to play along with, to make it easier to follow the duets and examples in the book. Right from the website, I’ve found these: Berklee Practice Method – Guitar The first-ever method that teaches you how to play in a rock band. Improve your improvisation, timing, technique, and reading ability, and master your role in the groove. Become the great guitar player that everyone wants to have in their band. Book/CD: $14.95 Jim Kelly’s Guitar Workshop DVD The FIRST music instruction DVD! This is the ultimate interactive experience for learning to play guitar like the pros. Use the multiple-camera-angle feature to zoom in to Jim’s right or left hand technique. Features an interactive tuning session, CD-quality audio, and multiple language tracks. DVD: $29.95 Also, you may want to look into the book/DVD for Fretboard Logic. Bill Edwards came up with with a whole logical way of organizing the fretboard in terms of chords and scales. His method is groundbreaking and easy to understand. The guitar itself isn’t a simple instrument, but his book helps clarify the confusion.

Dude, Just get a tape with varispeed, slow down some Yngwie and Blackmore solos, and play along with them until you know them well enough to shred. That’s what I did, and I’ve been bringing out the rock ever since! Todd LaRoc http://profiles.yahoo.com/toddlaroc

Check out www.emedia.org where you’ll find several good packages and you can download self running demos that show them off. I’ve looked at eMedia Guitar Method 1 (ver 2) and it looks very good for someone starting out. I got it for my daughter who wants to play. I wouldn’t recommend Voyetra’s Teach Me Guitar Deluxe as it is not as comprehensive as the eMedia program. By the way, Amazon.com stocks the eMedia stuff. Michael
