Amp suggestions
Question:
>I am considering either a Fender Cyber Twin or a Marshall TSL 100 half >stack. Any advice would be appreciated
Please note that the following is based on your having posted on alt.guitar.beginner; I’m making the possibly-unfounded assumption that you are fairly new to playing. Either amp should be fine for club gigs, more than adequate for jamming, and overkill for solo playing at home. The Marshall is usially considered a "rock" amp, while the Cyber-Twin is far more versatile because of its built-in modeling feature. Since I enjoy playing various types of music, with and without effects, if I needed that much power I’d go with the Fender; otherwise I’d buy a smaller amp and put the money I saved into other gear. If you are *not* a beginner, you already know what you like to play and why you want the kind of output these two amps deliver. The Cyber-Twin can emulate the "Marshall sound" fairly well, in addition to soundling like various other amps and outboard effects units. Once again, I’d favor the Fender. Besides, I happen to prefer the Fender’s looks.<g> Walter Luffman Medina, TN USA Amateur curmudgeon, equal-opportunity annoyer
