That looks like plenty to me–all the basics and lots of the additional chords. In a quick flick through my song book, the only others I use regularly are C half diminished (Cm7b5) and C7b9, but beginners probably wouldn’t need them unless they are getting into standards like Love Letters or Girl from Ipanema. The chord they variously call C2 or Csus2 (C-D-G) is likely to crop up in modern songs, if thet’s what the beginners are playing. I think you got the list right. Too much info can be overwhelming for them. Stephen Byron Bay, Australia

For beginners, I would trim most of those chords from the list and add chords A, B, D, E, F, G.   Keep it simple.  (major, minor, 7th, diminished). Power chords are only the first 2 or 3 strings of barre chords.

Sorry, I wasn’t really clear. I do intend to cover the guitar friendly keys (and chords). But, I would also like to cover the chords that students are most likely to encounter. I don’t plan on overwhelming them with all these at the same time… just major, minor & 7th chords. The other chords will be covered as lessons progress. — Mike LaFountain
