Not enough information.. what is your guitar plugged into? is it single coil or dual coil pickups? you could have run too much signal in and ruined the phones.. so you get extra distortion.. you could have the wrong amount of signal going in and that could cause dist. tell us the details. > And another thing.. am I trying too hard? I start to play for example, a song > I’ve been trying to learn, but then I realize all these details that I have to > take into consideration if I want to become a good guitar player.
my first reaction would be.. finish the song. I guess.. take it one step at a time.. if there seem a lot of details, then get one thing right at a time, or be working on it. With the > distortion on, it seems like you have to mute every freakin chord or note you > play so that the next one doesn’t get mixed into it..
We don’t know what you’re tyring to play, what you’re playing through, .. how can we really answer you? and then I have this > obsession where I have to play exactly the right strings..
I can’t just strum.. I have no idea what you mean.. I’m sorry. > is it crazy to worry about little things like this?
I don’t know. *g* > Well sorry to be a pain, I know I always write too much useless crap, I’d just > like a bit of advice. > Thanks all.
Any advice anyone can give you depends on the exact problem, and you’re a little too general here. Twang!

Today I tried to play my electric guitar using headphones.. I don’t know if it’s the headphones’ fault or something else, but it always sounds shitty it seems, no matter what I do when I plug it in. Maybe it has to do with the cord, I don’t know.. I don’t have much technical knowledge yet, but I’d like some insight from the rest of you with more experience. It just sounds like there’s too much distortion no matter what I do. Plus I can’t make it too loud because it makes the tinnitus in my ear go crazy, despite using earplugs. Another thing is there is a constant noise, kind of a humming noise, is there supposed to be, when the guitar is plugged in? Sorry I know I sound stupid but I’m a beginner. And another thing.. am I trying too hard? I start to play for example, a song I’ve been trying to learn, but then I realize all these details that I have to take into consideration if I want to become a good guitar player. With the distortion on, it seems like you have to mute every freakin chord or note you play so that the next one doesn’t get mixed into it.. and then I have this obsession where I have to play exactly the right strings.. I can’t just strum.. is it crazy to worry about little things like this? Well sorry to be a pain, I know I always write too much useless crap, I’d just like a bit of advice. Thanks all.
