wheres a good city to learn?

Question:

i am pretty much a beginner guitar player, (acoustic) my influences are anybody fro dwight yoakam to steve earle. and i have been working on writing my own songs, my goal is to perform public. i am going on 30 and have a yearning to try a new town (relocate) and plan playing this guitar for many years to come. i live in iowa and not much of a music scene here, my question is , where can i go to really learn about playing, writing and the music industry? thanks for your opinions.

Good luck making money in Nashville! Better get a regular day job there before you move. Since everyone is waiting to be discovered, you’ll starve trying to earn a living there until you’re "discovered". Same goes for LA.
