Profile Guitars

Question:

Has anyone else in this group had any experience with these Profile Guitars. Yes, Profile is the name brand.  The reason I’m asking is because, my brother in law went out yesterday and purchased one as part of a beginner package and I have to say, it looks really crappy.  Mind you, all I have is a Squier Fat Strat but, the Profile makes mine look like a million dollars. I was just wondering if I should suggest that he takes it back and, gets something a little better. Thanks, Mark

Well, if it is playable, that is all that matters for a beginner guitar, looks/sound/etc are nice, but are secondary. If it is unplayable, you might let him know of the added frustration that would add to an already frustrating endeavor. But remember, beginner packages are great because a ton of people will start to play, then give up, and this gives them a way to get something they can practice on for cheap, and then if they quit, they aren’t out as much as if they bought a gibson (or something similar) — mike anderson http://www.mp3.com/mikeanderson <–Oodles of new demos now available!!! my guitar lessons–> http://us.geocities.com/flabellifoliate No one wants to know the truth about their heroes.

My highschool put on a program where they taught guitar lessons at noon hour’s for $5, in hindsight it was a pretty good deal, anyways thats how I got started eight years ago. The guitar teacher ran a music shop near by, and happened to sell Profile guitars, so the lesson room was totally equipped with several vantage acoustics, and one vantage strat copy, and all the rest were Profile’s two electrics and one acoustic, the electrics, had plywood bodies, and cheap everything, so they’re basically junk, and the acoustic was also junk, you could drive a truck under the strings at were the neck connects to the body.  I stray from Nova Scotia Canada. and they’re pretty common among beginners around here.
