I USED TO BE A DRUMMER……

Question:

Forgot to say – I started with drums too. Now I do both. A good understanding of each one helps with the other I find. Good luck, Steve White – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Its not far off.  … but when the bands I played in, kept breaking up I decided to start playing guitar, and so I bought myself a pretty little blue TAKAMINE JASMINE accoustic/electric. I only know a few chords, so I started playing just rhythm to some simple songs, and despite my big fat fingers, I can go from E to A to G to D pretty well. I have had no formal instruction and so I want to ask what y’all will probably consider a super-dumb question: In Tablature, aren’t you just picking the notes on the fret board of the chord/key that the song is in? the lead or the bass guitarist just find the many different variations (notes) on the fret board and play them? I know I’m gonna get flamed for this, but I really need to know if I have this right before I start memorizing all the notes on the fret board. I appreciate any help y’all can give me….. Thank you. — "Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall down an open sewer and die." Mel Brooks Before you buy.
